EASTER SCHOOL 2012 April 2 to 6 2012 spring I am holding a five days Easter school. You can work on one of the following topics : Chinese brush painting, Chinese calligraphy or Chinese papercutting. Please choose only one topic because it is impossible to learn two topics in five days. DATE : 2 Monday to 6 Friday April 2012 TIME : 11 am to 3:30 pm with lunch break at 1 pm to 1:30 pm. Please bring your own packed lunch. Tea facilities are available. FEE : £150 Participants are expected to provide their own materials, You can also obtain any necessary materials from Rebecca at very reasonal prices. Alternatively, you can rent materials from Rebecca at £8 each day. CHINESE BRUSH PAINITNG SCHEDULE : TASTER : For folks who want to have a taste of different topics of Chinese brush painting, you will learn to paint a little of a new topic each day. The five topics are : Basic techniques, flowers, birds, landscapes, animals. SPECIAL TOPIC : For folks who have practised Chinese brush painting for some time and would like to paint with me in depth a special topic, you can choose from the following topics : Flowers, birds, landscapes, animals, fruits and vegetables. CHINESE CALLIGRAPH SCHEDULE : TASTER : For folks who want to have a taste of different styles of Chinese calligraphy, you will learn to write a little of a new style each day. The five styles are : Kai Shu, Li Shu, Chuan Shu, Hsing Shu, Tsao Shu. You can go to the link CALLIGRAPHY to have a look of the styles in my artworks. SPECIAL TOPIC : For folks who have practised Chinese calligraphy for some time and would like to work with me in depth a special style, let me know and I shall design a program to suit you. CHINESE PAPERCUTTING SCHEDULE : If you are a beginner, you will concentrate on the basic of papercutting on the first day. From the second day on, I shall introduce you to different styles of Chinese techniques like Yin and Yang, Multipl- colour, Applique, Fold and cut, and Splattering. There is no fix time in achieving each technique because each technique needs time to learn thoroughly. You may end up in learning only one or two techniques but learning it well is more important than learning a bit of everything.
