She was widowed after a short happy marriage to an equally talented scholar. Her poems in the period of her widowhood are particularly saturated with emotions. She was renowned for her choices of beautiful words and matching sounds. This is one of her most famous poem. It describes an autumn evening with drizzles, falling petals of chrysanthemums and leaves of the parasol tree. The geese are flying away.
