Flower always symbolises the prime and beauty of a lady. Flowers are short-lived. So falling petals is always an emotional subject for poets and artists. The most famous quotation is that of Lady Lin in the "Dreams of the Red Chamber". Lady Lin felt so sorry for the falling petals being trashed under the feet of passer-by. It was a reflection of her own misfortune of being an orphan and have to be under the charitable caring of her grandmother in a place far from her own home. She gathered the flower petals and gave them a decent burial.
